TO

CROATIA

Day 2

Travel from Zagreb to the coast, to join the island of Pag

After our long travel on Wednesday, Marko and I left his parent's house in Samobor. We took the car and started to drive to the coast. I was amazed by the landscapes offered by the continental part of Croatia with those mountains and hills, which already started in Germany and kept going along our way in Austria and Slovenia.

By using the countryside roads, I discovered many houses half built: A lot of people started to build their house before the crisis, and had to stop after 2008 because of the country's economy.

I also found out that thousands of buildings and houses are riddled with bullet and grenade holes, due to the war with Serbia. I could not picture those places, but the frontages of buildings and houses were studded with holes from grenades and shots.

WATERFALLS AT RASTOKE

We stayed in Rastoke to have a beer: I have been finally able to try a Croatian beer: "Pan", I love you, you always been there for me.

We had a short walk around the waterfalls and could not stay longer because the light will soon disappear and we were still at half of the travel.

But Croatia is not all about that, it's mostly a beautiful country laden with history, beautiful landscapes and monuments. The travel to the coast was pretty long, around 5 hours, so Marko and I stopped by Rastoke to see the waterfalls. This place was amazing.
